At VCMK, we combine time-honored tradition with innovative techniques to create wines that express the unique terroir of Rwanda. Our process honors the land, the grape, and the rich winemaking heritage that spans generations.
We carefully select vineyard sites based on soil composition, elevation, and microclimate to ensure optimal growing conditions for each grape variety.
Grapes are hand-harvested at peak ripeness and meticulously sorted to ensure only the finest fruit makes it into our wines.
Our wines ferment in small batches and age in a combination of new and neutral oak barrels to develop complexity and balance.
The fermentation process typically lasts 10-14 days in temperature-controlled tanks, followed by 12-24 months of aging in French oak barrels depending on the variety and vintage.
Each bottle is carefully filled, corked, and labeled by hand, then allowed to rest before release to ensure the wine reaches its full potential.
Rwanda's volcanic soils and high elevation create an exceptional environment for growing distinctive grape varieties.
We employ organic farming methods and minimize water usage to preserve our environment for future generations.
Our wine-making techniques honor centuries-old traditions while incorporating modern precision where beneficial.
We limit production volumes to ensure meticulous attention to quality at every stage of the process.
VCMK's focus on quality throughout their wine-making process is evident in every sip. Their attention to detail from vineyard to bottle creates truly exceptional wines that showcase Rwanda's unique terroir.
